Here at The Bakery Bar, we have curated a selection of high-quality, from-scratch meals featuring only local ingredients. We serve both breakfast and lunch all day, every day. Whether you're on the go, towing your kids around, looking for a date spot, or just really hungry, we've got something for everyone.
Though we don't currently offer online ordering from our food menu, feel free to call and place an order!

BREAD:
Our sandwiches are served on a variety of homemade bread options. We make sourdough, dill rye, and white bread. Loaves are available in store as supplies last; we also take pre-orders for bread as well.
COOKIE CAKES:
Need something special to bring to the function? Look no further than our frosted cookie cakes. We have a variety of flavors including but not limited to chocolate chip, snickerdoodle, and peanut butter. Customers can customize their message, design, and colors!

Our Story
FROM DREAM TO REALITY
Located in historic downtown Kewaunee, the building that The Bakery Bar resides in has been serving alcohol ever since it was built in the 1890s. High-school sweethearts Sam and Kayla Dowd continue to uphold this tradition, with their own unique twist.
The Dowds are Kewaunee natives, born and raised. They've seen many businesses come and go over the years, including Tom's, a well-loved bakery that resided just across the street from The Bakery Bar.
One night, Sam and Kayla sat outside of what would eventually become their business. Sam looked at Tom's. Then he looked at Kayla. "We could do that," he said, "We could run a bakery."
The dream sat dormant for a few years. Time passed. It likely would've stayed dormant forever were it not for the events of 2020. COVID-19 turned things upside down, and like many others, the Dowds were forced to reevaluate their careers. After much deliberation, they decided to take a leap of faith, and The Bakery Bar was born.
Now, over three years into it, they've gone from selling just cinnamon rolls and coffee on the first day to a multifaceted, established business. Though much has changed and evolved, there's one thing that stays the same: the love the Dowds share for quality food, innovation, and of course, their community.
